To meet today’s social needs and pedagogic standards a new school extension became necessary so pupils can stay after school and get lunch. This house is definitely that place where we act as urban individuals protected from time. It is a polyvalent space that articulates an administrative area with another one that promotes culture and civilization as if through a path where the main program/scheme is spread (secretary, offices, WC, auditorium), just like a beast with thousand feet snug to the slope.

The existing villa was composed of an eclectic set of buildings stuck together forming a strange architectural patchwork: An original building from the early 20th century, a first extension built in 1991 mirroring the house and a final touch in 2003 to add 3 rooms and several facilities just before the current owner moved in

Dreamland Margate / Assael Architecture

Courtesy of Assael Architecture Assael Architecture recently shared its vision for the Dreamland Margate, one of Britain’s most famous seaside amusement parks, into whether Thanet District Council will be allowed to compulsorily purchase the former fun park. Assael is the fifth architectural practice to be appointed and the only one to protect and reuse the Grade II* Cinema and Scenic Railway as part of a low density housing scheme designed to attract inward investment.
