Michael Maltzan Architecture projected the residence for two artists located 24 Km north of Los Angeles at the edge of Angeles forest. Inspired by geometric arrangements of interlocking polygons, the new residence takes the form of a heptagonal figure whose purity is confounded by a series of intersecting diagonal slices though space. Bounded by an introverted exterior, living spaces unfold in a moiré of shifting perspectival frames from within and throughout the house

Peña Ganchegui y Asociados projected this unique house located near the Cantabric Coast in Getaria, Spain. Here is the project description: In a plot with a steep slope towards the North, aligned to the coast and therefore with full enjoyment of the view of the Cantabric sea, the building is situated close to the local access road, albeit at sufficient distance to ensure the maximum of sunlight by moving away from the shadow of the adjacent trees.

Located just outside of Paris, Bigoni-Mortemard Architectes projected the seven houses like a small medina around an alley. Four of the houses have their living rooms on the second floor, connected to the sky through a series of terraces leading onto the roof, where a small kitchen has been placed. The contrast between the austerity of the facades and the generosity of dimensions and light of the inner spaces is surprising

The surrounding area is characterized by traditional store built houses, many of which date back centuries and are marked by their use of this single contraction material.
