The knoll-like cross section of the property organizes a series of terraced interior levels which cascade across the topography of the site. The street side facade is defined by a series of interlocking plaster and wood volumes which visually protect the interior from the public way

Dandenong Government Services Offices / HASSELL

Developed and built by Grocon, the challenge of this landmark development was to create a high standard of urban design and quality workplace in this outer-suburban region, and to assist in the rebirth of the precinct as a major mixed-use activity centre. © Peter Bennetts The building is fully occupied by four government departments, with more than 14,400 square metres of office space over eight levels, an underground car park and staff bicycle facilities.

soma’s Thematic Pavilion opens tomorrow!

Courtesy of soma Designed by the Austrian architecture office soma for EXPO 2012 , the Thematic Pavilion dubbed One Ocean will celebrate it’s grand opening tomorrow (May 11) in Yeosu, South-Korea. Since winning first prize in an open international competition in 2009, One Ocean has captured the attention of the international community with its gill-like kinetic façade and sustainable climate design. A series of bridges over the river will allow passage from one side of the park to the other.
